Lenovo Legion Duel Review

Lenovo Legion Duel is an advanced gaming mobile launched in 2020 which is packed with special features such as dual batteries, motorized popUp selfie camera, and control buttons adapted for mobile gaming.

Such features make this a dream phone for all hardcore gamers.
The logo glows bright red when the phone is in use and it is possible to set it so that the light pulsates when playing. You can also set the logo to pulsate when you receive a message or when charging the mobile phone. Mann has full control because you can turn off the pulsating light completely in the mobile phone's settings.

Textured gray triangles sit from both the top and bottom of the back piece with the tips facing the center of the back. Lenovo has chosen this type of design to give players a better grip when playing in landscape mode.
The forward-facing camera slides up the mobile phone chassis on one long side of the phone as a way to give a display completely without disturbing details such as a hole or a flap on the display.
As a result, if you want to take a selfie in a different mode than in landscape mode, the motorized camera module slides up against your hand. Which is a disadvantage.

Lenovo Legion Duel was built to suit people who spend most of their time playing mobile games and most mobile phone games require the mobile to be in landscape mode.

This flagship mobile has forward-facing stereo speakers that provide an impressive sound with powerful bass and high volume. Perfect for what this mobile phone is made for. One speaker is located at the bottom of the phone and the other is placed on one long side.
There are two USB type C charging ports, with one located at the bottom and another on the side. It facilitates charging while playing.

The fingerprint reader is located below the surface of the display, which is now a common location for flagship mobiles and mobiles in the upper-middle segment.

The display is of the AMOLED type of 6.6 inches and the aspect ratio is 19: 5. It has 1080 × 2340 pixels and a pixel density of 388 PPI (pixels per inch).
The display has a good resolution for games and has an image refresh rate of 144 Hz
The brightness of the display is good enough to allow you to play outdoors in sunlight but still clearly see what is shown on the display. It is an obvious advantage to have a large display on a smartphone that is intended to be used when playing mobile games and for that matter, it is also an advantage when watching streaming movies. You need to be able to clearly see what you are looking at, which becomes much more difficult on a mobile phone with smaller display size.

You can play technologically advanced mobile games such as Fortnite, PUBG, Call Of Duty, Modern Combat Versus, or Shadowgun Legends at the highest graphic settings.
The refresh rate of the display is 144Hz but 90Hz and 60Hz are also available to save battery consumption when maximum updating is not necessary. That is when you use your mobile phone without playing.
Under the chassis is an eight-core Snapdragon 865 Plus processor on GHz and because of this powerful processor, the Lenovo Legion Duell can run even technically demanding mobile games at fast speeds without lag.

The RAM is 12 GB and the internal memory is 256 GB for the base model, but there is a better variant with a RAM of 16 GB and a built-in memory of 512 GB. It goes without saying that a smartphone focused on gaming really needs built-in memory to make room for all these mobile games.
Memory card space is lacking but with so much internal memory it is hardly a necessity.
The selfie camera is 20 Megapixels (wide-angle lens) and on the back are two camera lenses of 64 Megapixels (wide-angle lens) and 16 Megapixels (ultra-wide-angle lens).

The overall quality of the cameras was good, with lots of details and sharpness, although it is hardly about the very highest camera quality as this is a gaming mobile with a focus on gaming.
The operating system is Android 10 but with Lenovo's own skin called Lenovo Os / ZUI12 as a layer on top.

The entire phone, including the user interface, has been optimized for landscape use, including Lenovo's own skins with access to specially adapted settings and tools.
During normal use, it also works well in a standing position.
Located on the right long side of the mobile phone Edge or on top when you hold the mobile phone in a horizontal position, there are two special buttons you use when playing. These are not physical buttons that protrude from the chassis but rather haptic areas that you squeeze in to activate certain functions. A kind of feature that both HTC and Google have used on previous mobile phones. However, their functions were not linked to mobile gaming.

Lenovo Legion Duel has dual batteries (just like the new OnePlus 8T), dual charging ports, and a single liquid cooling system. Lenovo's reasoning for this is to optimize the phone for horizontal position, so the areas where your hands rest while playing do not get too hot.
Gaming is almost the most intense task a modern smartphone can perform and it drains the battery fairly quickly. To handle this reality, Lenovo has not only installed a large 5000 mAh battery but it also supports super-fast fast charging at an incredible 90W.

Lenovo Legion Phone Duel is an advanced gaming phone packed with unique features such as dual batteries, pop up selfie camera, and haptic buttons. Such features make this a dream phone for mobile players like myself. On the other hand, the Lenovo Legion Duell feels a bit too expensive with its price tag of Rs. 125000.

It is far from all mobile gamers who can afford this mobile phone and it is, of course, a shame but there are cheaper alternatives if you look a little.
